About the role
We are seeking an outstanding Research Associate to join the New Product Development (NPD) team to support the development and commercial launch of new in situ and microscopy-based products. New Product Development is a rapidly growing team that acts as the interface between R&D and Production. The team is involved in all stages of product development from concept to post-launch activities. This is a unique cross-disciplinary position that will work closely with a variety of groups including Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Optical Imaging, quality control (QC), and Manufacturing to develop and validate novel reagents for the rapid expansion of 10x product lines. Candidates must have experience of molecular biology and be able to apply that experience in a fast-paced work environment. Research experience with single cell or spatial analysis techniques, DNA/protein conjugation, and next generation sequencing is a big plus. The successful applicant is expected to have exceptional attention to detail and the ability to execute experiments and analyze data.

What you will be doing
Perform multiplexed in situ RNA detection on tissue sections
Imaging tissue samples under wide field and confocal microscopies
Preparation, formulation, and testing of newly designed 10x reagents either from SOPs or R&D protocols
Implement new QC methods to assess reagent quality through a variety of analytical and functional tests
Perform reagent guard banding and stability studies
Work within multidisciplinary teams
B.S. or M.S. in chemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology
2+ years (B.S.) of relevant hands-on research experience in and industry setting
Proficient in standard molecular biology techniques such as sample preparation, nucleic acid amplification and purification (RNA/DNA), qPCR.
Experience in DNA/RNA in situ hybridization
Experience in using fluorescence microscopies
Experience in troubleshooting molecular biology assays
Ability to write SOPs
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Desire to work in a flexible and fast-paced startup environment
