Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is responsible for a wide range of accounting related activities. Successful candidates should have the desire to take initiative and consider themselves to be a team player with good communication and problem-solving skills. Additionally, one should have good attention to detail and enjoy meeting deadlines in a collaborative environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

Act as a primary support to Accounting Manager
Prepare purchase orders
Review, Analyze and record each AP and AR invoices by line into the system including two-way and three-way match
Prepare bank and credit card reconciliation
Maintain fixed asset, prepaids, and deferred rent schedules
Prepare month-end journal entries, including but not limited to, accruals, amortizations and adjusting journal entries
Process weekly check runs
Initial ACH and wire payments
Accrue use tax when needed
Prepare and deposit checks in the bank
Responsible for the correct review and accounting codification of the invoices
Reconcile AP statements on a weekly and monthly basis
Analyze and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts
Prepare account reconciliation schedules and analytical reports for various accounts
Research and resolve accounting issues
Ensure that financial transactions are conducted and approved in accordance with company policies and procedure
Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
Other duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications & Requirements:

BS/BA in Accounting or Finance
5-7 years of work experience in AP and AR, general ledger, month-end close and account reconciliation
Working Knowledge of GAAP, a plus
Experience in NetSuite, required
Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, V-Lookups, and what-if statements), required
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Cost Accounting experience, a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
