Amyris is hiring an Environmental, Health & Safety Engineer! In this role, you will be working within our Emeryville EHS team as well as with our talented scientific staff to support, coordinate and maintain Amyris health and safety policies and programs in compliance with local, state, and federal health, safety regulations to perform the following tasks.
Coordinate elements of the Amyris Emeryville Injury, Illness Prevention Program and related safety programs in compliance with Cal-OSHA.
Coordinate Emeryville facility safety inspections and resolution of corrective actions.
Collaborate with scientific staff to complete appropriate safety reviews on jobs, procedures and equipment.
Assist with EHS training, training program development, and record keeping.
Assist with the investigation, identification and resolution of safety incidents.
Provide monitoring and sampling support to identify hazards along with maintenance of the sampling equipment.
Coordination of medical testing for hearing conservation, hazardous waste and other job specific tests.
Safety Datasheet production, dissemination, revision control, and archiving.
Assist with ergonomic evaluations and tracking repetitive strain symptoms to ensure early detection of potentially serious and costly injuries.
Assist with safety supply management and identification of appropriated PPE and ergonomic supplies.
Upkeep, data submission and tracking of facility permit files, as needed.
Upkeep of safety communication methods such as intranet- ensuring up to date posting of safety information.
Provide support as needed for environmental and emergency functions.
Bachelor in chemical or biological sciences, public health, industrial hygiene, safety, ergonomics, environmental or similar field.
At least two years’ experience in EHS or related field.
Proficient in Microsoft office programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
EHS Certification (such as ASP, CSP, CIH or other) highly desired.
