Production Planning Manager

The Production Planning Manager reports into the Associate Planning Director and focuses on the Biossance direct to consumer skincare line. We are looking for a qualified Production Planning Manager to be responsible for the strategic and tactical planning of manufacturing to maximize service level performance and efficient delivery of inventory at the lowest cost. This role will create weekly schedules and orders, provide direction and guidance to suppliers for production priority and ensure timely delivery. In addition to supporting the Associate Planning Director this role requires a close partnership with several departments to facilitate all the cross functional needs as it pertains to raw materials, Contract Manufacturing needs, and finished production. The goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of our production operations.
Responsibilities:
Perform components requirement analysis to support all productions
Execute day to day purchasing activities (issue purchase orders, optimize production planning, manage open purchase orders, drive on-time deliveries)
Identify cost savings opportunities
Manage on time delivery of components
Verify Bills of Materials and request updates/corrections when required
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure efficiencies and continuity of supply
Plan and schedule kitting jobs at 3rd party facilities and ensure that they are on track for confirmed STT dates
Assist with componentry inventory reconciliation and resolve consumption issues
Assist and contribute to inventory analysis requests
Collaborate with and improve accuracy between third party partners (distribution and manufacturing)
Partner closely with Channel Planning team to ensure on-time procurement and production ensuring continuity of supply for new and existing items
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in supply planning, production & purchasing and/or other relative inventory management experience
Experience working with third party manufacturers and distributors preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with all levels of the organization
NetSuite system experience preferred
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills strongly preferred
Ability to perform quickly under pressure and be flexible to changes in direction
Team player, experience in working in a highly cross-functional organization
