Technician, Pilot Plant

The Pilot Plant team is seeking a BioProcess Technician to support the development and small-scale production efforts in our pilot plant. The successful candidate will work closely with members of the pilot plant and process development teams who are responsible for fermentation, downstream recovery and purification.
Basic housekeeping of fermentation and separations equipment
Monitor cleaning processes and identify deviations and/or opportunities for improvement
Sample cleaning processes and prepare them for routine analysis
Preparation of production samples for use on analytical equipment
Enter data into equipment log sheets
Proficient in basic lab techniques
Clean (CIP) and set-up process equipment such as fermenters, portable tanks, continuous centrifuges, homogenizers, and filters
Restocking supplies for fermentation according to Kanban system.
Preparation of materials and assemblies needed to support fermentation activities
Disposition of process and feedstock waste including rinsing of bottles
Communicate well within a team framework, effectively prioritize work, and work efficiently
Adhere to all facility safety procedures and policies
Required Qualifications:
1+ years of related experience
Associate degree in scientific discipline or equivalent experience
Experience with laminar flow hoods
Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for routine work and receive instructions for new processes
Team player with strong problem solving and communication skills
Ability to stand up to 6 hours per day while monitoring operations and performing tasks
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely move portable tanks ranging in size from 10L to 1000L
Work Monday thru Friday with occasional weekend and overtime duties
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic understanding of Fermentation and/or Downstream processes a plus
Basic understanding of aseptic and sterilization operations a plus
