Facilities Manager, Operations

As Facilities Manager, you will work closely with leadership, and lead a small team of Lab Managers and Office Assistants, to build essential systems and functional spaces for all Ansa colleagues.

Leading a team of 2-5 Lab Managers and Office Assistants to provide overall facilities management, supporting all spaces and colleagues
Managing the relationship with our virtual lab management and procurement team to ensure efficient ordering of supplies, troubleshooting delays/backorders and timely receipt of goods
Guiding system development for lab purchasing, supply, consumables and equipment inventory management – creating best practices and evolving of purchasing policies as the team grows
Leading Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives, including staff training and accountability to build and prioritize a culture of workplace safety
Driving facilities build and development projects, providing insight on technical requirements, space planning and timelines in collaboration with property management, contractors and vendors
Supporting the Operations team in organizing celebratory and colleague engagement events to reflect on our milestones and successes
Managing workplace security functions, including security system protocols, employee access, vendor interactions and emergency response
Working closely with our outsourced IT team to coordinate the purchase, build and delivery of IT hardware, advise on IT system security settings, employee account and distribution list access
Directing equipment and asset management, including new equipment sourcing, leasing inquiries, installation scheduling, maintenance requests and asset inventory systems

Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or High School Diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience
Experience leading small teams, providing mentorship, project management and career development support
Exceptional time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize and drive projects to completion
Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
Great analytical skills with an eagerness to proactively problem solve
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Eagerness to get hands-on in building spaces and supporting colleagues
Certification or experience in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) regulations and risk management is a huge plus
Six Sigma / Lean Labs for inventory management a plus
Experience managing operations for early-stage and rapidly growing organizations; departmental management in large organizations a plus
Basic understanding of the tools used in research related to DNA synthesis, including: protein expression and purification, FPLC, HPLC, SDS-PAGE, molecular cloning, biochemical assays, is a plus
