This role will spearhead these efforts, building and managing a team focused on scalable process optimization and execution, making key decisions that will have company level impact.

Design, execute, and scale synthetic routes to produce large quantities of modified nucleotides with extremely high purity.
Work with other teams to determine company wide needs for modified nucleotides and manage their production to meet these needs.
PhD in Chemistry, or equivalent
5+ years experience with organic chemistry and nucleic acid chemistry
Strong organic chemistry background
Extensive hands-on experience with nucleoside/nucleotide synthesis
Large scale nucleotide purifications (reverse phase and ion exchange) is a plus
Strong analytical chemistry skills with exposure to modern spectroscopic and chromatographic methods (ie HPLC, UHPLC-MS, NMR)
Experience with development and maintenance of QC pipelines and document tracking
Extremely high attention to detail
Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
Leadership and management philosophy in alignment with the goals and culture of the company
Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, and presentation skills
