We believe developing and interrogating new polymerase-nucleotide conjugates will be key to unlocking next-generation DNA synthesis. On the Biochemistry team, you will be at the hub of our novel DNA synthesis R&D, integrating protein engineering and chemistry into our world-class technology. As part of this interdisciplinary team, you’ll work with experts in nucleic acid biochemistry, develop your skills, and make tangible improvements in Ansa’s core technology.

Implementing workflows for protein purification and bioconjugation
Conducting assays to test protein purity and homogeneity
Measuring the performance of enzymes and enzymatic reagents to understand the mechanistic underpinnings of our technology
Routinely performing enzymatic oligonucleotide syntheses using our technology, to pressure test our process improvements
Providing rapid turnaround on experimental data and feedback to technical teams for technology iteration and improvement.

BS in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemical Biology, Molecular Biology, or equivalent
2+ years experience with nucleic acid or protein biochemistry/chemical biology
Protein expression and purification skills, FPLC, SDS-PAGE, etc.
Experience with kinetic assays
Bioconjugation experience is a plus
Analytical chemistry experience (HPLC, LC-MS) is a plus
Great analytical skills and a logical approach to problem solving
Ability to learn new technical areas quickly and thrive in a multidisciplinary environment
Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, and presentation skills
