Software Engineer, Laboratory Automation

As a Laboratory Automation Software Engineer on Ansa’s Production team, you will play a central role in our commercial success. You will have the opportunity to gradually build a team that automates cutting-edge molecular biology workflows with best-in-class robotics technology.

Ownership of Ansa’s Production automation: Building and managing a small team that will grow with the needs of Ansa to implement our vision and help with custom hardware / software / wetware interfaces
Collaborate closely with research scientists to scale and automate their workflows by building scalable, robust and automated processes to deploy in both R&D and regulated production environments
Develop integrated work-cells to automate molecular biology protocols using both commercial and custom lab robotics
Writing and optimizing scripts for lab instruments

MS or PhD in engineering field with Molecular biology background
3+ years of experience in laboratory automation
Leadership experience to effectively manage employees
Deep experience with deployment and use of LIMS.
Proficiency working and creating API, and integrating with existing tools
Mastery of software architecture concepts, especially data-driven systems
Fluency in Python
Experience solving bioinformatics problems is a plus
Machine learning experience with wet lab experimental data is a plus
