As a result of exciting developments both with Caribou’s internal pipeline programs and with the addition of a new external partnership, we have multiple projects at Caribou focused on the discovery and development of CAR-T cell therapy candidates. We are seeking a positive, supportive, and self- motivated Flow Cytometry Manager to serve as our subject matter expert in flow cytometry. In this role, you will collaborate with researchers on unique projects using cutting edge technologies to develop cell therapies from early conception through to clinical trials. Utilizing multiple state-of-the-art flow cytometry platforms, you will develop, optimize, and run assays, as well as perform data analysis to support Caribou’s programs. As the go-to person for flow cytometry, you’ll have the opportunity to establish best practices, and mentor others on proper use of these platforms. Oversee and optimize Caribou’s flow cytometry platforms, including training team members, performing instrument maintenance, regular calibrations, and overseeing repairs
Prepare and run samples for multiple internal research groups using established assay designs
Assist in optimizing multi-color assays
Author and edit SOPs
Perform sample analysis and communicate results
Collaborate across research teams to develop and troubleshoot assays
Maintain an inventory of supplies and reagents for standard protocols
Independently prioritize daily projects and drive results to completion
Assisting with technology transfers and coordinating with CROs on outsourced flow panel development and analysis
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or related discipline
7+ years of multicolor flow cytometry using a variety of platforms such as BD Fortessa or similar, Intellicyt iQue, and Sony Cell Sorter; experience with multicolor assays (using minimum of 5 colors)
High level expertise with flow cytometry data analysis using FlowJo, FACS Diva, or similar software
Strong sample preparation experience, and experience with multi-parameter fluorophore experiments, including flow cytometry panel design and fluorescence compensation
Must be able to train and mentor team members on running flow cytometry and troubleshooting machines
Ability to work cross functionally with effective communication and follow through in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize projects with strong time management skills
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Nice-to-have (but not required):
FlowJo experience for flow cytometry data analysis
High throughput multi-color flow cytometry and cell sorting
Maintenance and repair of flow cytometry equipment
Degree in Immunology
