As a result of exciting developments both with Caribou’s internal pipeline programs and with the addition of external partnership, we have multiple early-stage projects at Caribou focused on the preclinical discovery and development of CAR-T cell therapy candidates. We are looking for an independent, goal-oriented Research Associate/Senior Research Associate to help us propel this work forward. This is an exciting and challenging role in which you will lend your molecular and cell biology expertise to support a variety of research and development projects. You will work collaboratively and cross-functionally with multiple researchers on cutting-edge technologies with progressive ideas to deliver on impactful research projects that we believe will ultimately positively impact the lives of patients.
Designing and performing an array of molecular biology techniques including primer design, PCR, in vitro transcription, plasmid design and cloning, small- and large-scale plasmid preparation
Culturing primary human T cells & stem cells, including isolation, activation and expansion from peripheral blood mononuclear cells
Gene editing and manipulation of primary cells using nucleofection and viral transduction
Analyzing gene editing outcomes by sequencing and flow-based methodologies
Coordinating experiments with other Scientists and RAs across functional groups
Compiling data, presenting results, and staying current on relevant literature
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Cell Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related discipline
Minimum of 2 years of experience designing and performing molecular and cell assays
Experience with a variety of molecular techniques such as PCR, cloning, and in vitro transcription
Experience in mammalian cell culture techniques
Data analysis experience
Willingness and ability to share occasional weekend cell culture duties
Competency in flow cytometry
Competency with molecular biology design tools
Background in immunology or oncology
Sequencing platforms such as NGS – lllumina, Nanopore, or PacBio
Application of genome editing technologies
Experience working with a wide array of primary cells (including iPSC and NK cells) and cell lines
