Scientist, CAR-NK Therapeutics

We are seeking an energetic Scientist to join our Stem Cell Therapeutics team. You will closely collaborative with other Scientists and Research Associates to drive discovery and the development of Caribou’s first iPSC-derived NK (iNK) cell therapy product. You’ll apply your expertise in immunology to generate engineered iNK cells with enhanced function and persistence using Caribou’s chRDNA genome editing platform. Design and evaluate chimeric antigen receptors (CAR) and other armoring strategies in iNK cells to optimize tumor cell killing activity
Collaborate with the pharmacology group to perform in vivo studies to evaluate CAR-iNK cell persistence and anti-tumor killing activity
Manage Research Associate(s) within the team
Coordinate experiments with other Scientists and RAs across functional groups, compile data and present results and stay current on relevant primary literature
Data analysis and communicate scientific data and concepts effectively through presentations, protocols, test methods and reports

PhD in Immunology or related discipline
Minimum of 2 years of relevant post-doctoral academic or industry experience
Strong background in immunology with experience in NK and/or CAR-T based cancer therapy
Expertise in developing and executing in vitro cellular characterization assays including immune cell phenotyping, cytotoxicity, proliferation, migration, and cytokine analysis.
Hands on experience engineering immune cells and/or iPSC with genome-editing technologies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to work independently, as well as to collaborate with peers and work effectively in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
Strong organizational, time management, communication and interpersonal skills

Experience with differentiation of pluripotent stem cells into immune cells (e.g. NK, T, Macrophages)
Experience in retroviral/lentiviral transduction of immune cells
Experience with robotic cell culture automation and performing high-throughput screening assays
Fluorescence microscopy & imaging analysis experience
