Systems Administrator/Senior Systems Administrator

As we continue to grow, there is a newly-created role in our IT team for a Systems Administrator / Senior Systems Administrator. This is a key role in the continued evolution of our IT department, supporting the team’s operational goals (network, computer, and software infrastructures) as well as contributing to key long-term project goals and systems improvement. Deploy and maintain all aspects of the Company’s networks, computers, and software infrastructures
Perform system design and continuous process improvement to achieve industry best practices with guidance from outside experts
Assume role of IT subject matter expert for all AWS instances. Document and maintain current environment. Develop policies, processes, and procedures for adding new AWS services, modules, instances, etc.
Assist with key projects as the primary technical resource, partnering with internal stakeholders and outside vendors to meet departmental and organizational goals
Build and maintain automated endpoint management using Microsoft Intune. Managed Windows OS and MacOS supporting a distributed workforce, secure lab computers, servers, and other key systems
Monitor, troubleshoot, and escalate IT incidents reported by employees
Deploy and manage monitoring solutions for key IT infrastructure. Ensure compliance with IT policies and standards.
Create and maintain knowledge base documentation for areas of responsibility, including but not limited to LAN/WAN diagrams, IT procedures, and training resources
Seek opportunities for standardization and automation of repetitive tasks
Other tasks as needed by Associate Director of IT

Bachelor’s Degree in IT/IS, Computer Science, or related field. Equivalent, transferable professional experience will also be considered.
3+ years of demonstrated system administration or engineering experience with progressive responsibilities including designing and building IT enterprise environments
Experience managing, maintaining, and designing AWS instances
Experience designing, building, and maintaining endpoint imaging, OS updates, application updates, and other facets of Intune
Proven ability to troubleshoot advanced server and network issues in a timely manner; determine root cause, analyze, and document information

Demonstrated ability to wear many hats, showing flexibility and resourcefulness in addressing new challenges as they arise. Expert level experience with Windows Servers, VMWare, ESXi, SAN/NAS storage
Expert level experience with IT asset management lifecycle for Windows OS and MacOS systems.
Proven track record of developing key processes and procedures that support each stage of the IT asset lifecycle with emphasis on client monitoring, patch management, and software deployment
Experience securing MacOS, Windows OS, Windows Server 2016 or later in a cloud and hybrid computer environment
Experience with GxP, SOX compliance a plus
