Digital and Product Insights, Manager / Senior Manager – REMOTE – #2331

The Market Insights Manager / Senior Manager is passionate about gathering insights to inform design and development of digital materials, including: marketing materials, digital experiences, and products. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and organized. This role will report to the Director of Market Insights. Key internal stakeholder functions to whom this person is accountable for delivering insights will include: Digital Marketing and other Marketing teams, Product, Customer Experience, and Customer Success.

You will:

  • Embody a user-centric mindset, and act as a thought partner for internal stakeholders to test and optimize the user experience
  • Design user, usability, and user experience tests that span a broad range of external stakeholder audiences: consumer/patients, healthcare providers, and B2B enterprise decision-makers such as employer benefits managers
  • Thoughtfully evaluate a wide range of testing methodologies (including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods) and select the optimal methodology given business needs and resource constraints, striking the right balance between deep rigorous research with rapid testing
  • Proactively collect and implement feedback on study design from internal stakeholders in both written and verbal/live settings
  • Partner collaboratively with other functions that measure or test aspects of the user experience
  • Ensure the right participants are recruited to best replicate real customers in a testing environment
  • Execute surveys using digital research platforms (particularly, but may also include other tools such as Qualtrics, UserZoom, InCrowd, Sermo, and Zappi)
  • Launch studies, monitor progress, and adjust study design as needed during fielding
  • Analyze study data using available tools on the research platforms as well as layering on custom analysis when needed using Excel or Google Sheets
  • Interpret and code open-ended data, synthesizing and pulling out key themes
  • Create clear, visually appealing reports of research findings in Google Slides with a level of detail tailored to the specific needs of the project/internal audience
  • Incorporate feedback from internal stakeholders on reports and address follow-up questions
  • When necessary for large-scale projects: manage external vendors to conduct user/usability testing
  • Assist other Market Insights team members with ad-hoc quick-turn survey design, analysis, and reporting on market research projects

Your Background Should Include:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in usability testing, UX research, or related functions.
  • Manager versus senior manager leveling will be commensurate with experience (both length and type)
  • Degree preferably in human computer interaction, human factors, psychology or other social science, marketing research, or related fields
  • Experience managing a diverse group of internal stakeholders who heavily rely on research/testing outputs
  • Expert in using a wide range of research exercises and tools, such as: card sorting, tree testing, A/B testing, eye tracking, etc.
  • Curious and persistent about understanding stated and unstated needs and wants, figuring out the “why” behind human behavior
  • Already (or able to quickly become) a hands-on expert in digital research platform such as Qualtrics, UserTesting, InCrowd, UserZoom
  • Familiar with or able to quickly learn Google Slides
  • Ability to build positive relationships across teams and functions internally
  • Some knowledge of diagnostics, life sciences, health care, pharma, or related industries is a plus but not required

This position is remote, but some travel (<10%) may be required at the Menlo Park headquarters.
