This position must be based in or near Charlotte, North Carolina
The Operating Room Educator (ORE) is responsible for working with surgeons and OR staff in the preparation and application of the Company’s lead Acute Care product in hospitals (inpatient and outpatient) and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs). The ORE requires partnership with local Territory Business Managers to build strong relationships with surgeons and OR staff as well key Heron personnel to ensure the successful adoption of Zynrelef. This position reports into the District Business Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Verbally deliver clear and concise instruction on the safe and efficacious use of Heron pain management products to customers in and out of the operating room setting, including in-services for surgeons and clinical staff.
Work alongside OR Scrub Techs and OR Nurses to ensure product is used as mandated.
Participate fully in training on new data and materials through in person and online training programs. Attend district, regional and national meetings, as required.
Maintain an updated working knowledge of Zynrelef, relevant disease states, and competitor products in order to provide comprehensive clinical knowledge to customer contacts.
Able to carry out all duties and responsibilities in compliance with applicable regulations and Pharma guidelines. Complete assigned administrative tasks, including customer records, in a timely, accurate, legible, and organized manner complying with all corporate policies, procedures, and standards.
Education Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and a certificate as a scrub tech. Associates degree a definite plus
Experience minimum requirements: Minimum one (1) year of operating room experience (e.g. as a Scrub Tech, Operating Room Nurse, or device sales representative).
Candidates must satisfy reasonable credentialing requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations and background checks, where applicable. Fully credentialed candidates a definite plus. Heron will pay all expenses related to credentialing.
Minimum one (1) year of experience building and maintaining strong professional relationships with pharmacists and surgeons across multiple specialties. Experience in orthopedic and general surgery, pain management preferred.
Demonstrated experience working alongside physicians and staff in the operating room.
Demonstrated understanding of EMR, preference cards, order sets and CPOE systems.
Ability to communicate a current, effective, and accurate description of Zynrelef to surgeons & OR staff.
Demonstrated success in a team environment and the ability to partner closely with others.
Compliance with corporate policies and procedures and applicable FDA and OIG legal standards and requirements as well as PhRMA Code.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in addition to being self-motivated with a sense of urgency, well organized, and possessing strong problem-solving abilities.
Must be willing to travel by car or plane as needed for training and going to multiple locations (hospitals and ASCs). Position may require overnight travel to cover multiple hospitals and ASCs. Heron will cover all reasonable expenses.
Must be available to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends, as required.
