Position Summary
Poseida Therapeutics is seeking a talented and self-motivated research associate to join our Gene Therapy team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to develop new gene editing and gene therapy products in an exciting and dynamic environment focused on cutting-edge gene editing technology directed toward discovery and characterization of novel in vivo gene therapies.
Responsibilities
These may include but are not limited to:
· Actively participate in our proprietary gene therapy platform technologies to create new human therapeutic candidates
· Develop and perform research involving various in vitro and animal laboratory techniques including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, ELISA, cell/tissue handling and isolations, in vivo procedures and animal imaging
· Understand and analyze results, and communicate findings in team meetings
· Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities, as required
Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· BS with at least 3 plus years experience or MS with 0 plus years experience in the field of molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, biochemistry or related field (a combination of experience and education may be considered)
· Hands-on experience with in vivo murine models
· Proficient in mammalian cell culture related techniques, including cell line maintenance and in-vitro transfection or viral transduction
· Experience with various biological techniques and assays (e.g. PCR/ddPCR, DNA/RNA preparation, ELISA, molecular cloning)
· Experience with assay development is desirable
· Preferable experience with primary mammalian cell culture
· Experience with vector copy assay is a plus
· Capability to multi-task, be independent, self-motivated, as well as work in a highly collaborative setting
· Excellent oral and communication skills
· Critical thinking, analytic skills and trouble-shooting ability
