
Position Summary
Poseida is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative individual to join our Early Process Development team. This position will work closely with the R&D and Tech Ops teams to develop, optimize, qualify, and integrate next generation processes and technologies for cell and gene therapy, focusing on allogeneic CAR-T cells. He/she will contribute to researching, developing, and implementing new methods and technologies to improve production as well as product characterization. He/she will be expected to complete scientific and technical tasks on aggressive timelines. Position requires excellent communication and presentation skills, a proven ability to plan and carry out experiments independently, troubleshoot technical issues, and to work with automation instrumentation and software.
Responsibilities
These may include but are not limited to:
· Evaluate alternative technologies to create robust, reproducible, and scalable next generation manufacturing processes
· Independently design and execute process development and product characterization studies. Experience with Design of Experiment (DoE) a plus
· Document laboratory procedures and experiments with great attention to detail in laboratory notebooks
· Analyze and present results in team and cross-functional meetings
· Assist in the development of standard operating procedures, analytical test methods, analytical sampling plans, and technology transfer to internal or external manufacturers
· Work with R&D teams to gain deeper understanding of process challenges and process-to-process product quality attribute variability
Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· BS or MS degree in a scientific discipline (chemistry, biology, immunology or related field) with 5 plus years of experience
· Demonstrated excellent aseptic technique. Proficient in cell culture of human cell lines and human primary cells
· Hands-on experience in performing assays using human whole blood, PBMCs and purified T cell, such as multi-color immuno-phenotyping and lymphocyte subset characterization using flow cytometer, functional analysis of immune T cells such as cytotoxicity and ELISA assays
· Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, optimize and solve challenging research problems
· Must be a creative, passionate, organized and detail-oriented person with excellent verbal and written communications skills
· Adequate understanding and knowledge of immunology and CAR-T cell therapy
· Experience in several of the following areas preferred: CAR-T cell therapy, product development, process characterization, scale-up, cGMP clinical manufacturing, cell separation by magnetic beads, automation, Design of Experiment (DOE), and/or technology transfer
