Position Summary
Poseida Therapeutics, Inc. is seeking a talented and self-motivated senior scientist to join our Gene Therapy team at our San Diego, CA, location. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to advance exploratory gene therapy programs in a highly collaborative, cross-functional team environment. The Senior Scientist will have a PhD or equivalent in hematology, immunology, stem cell biology, or related field with at least five years of experience in the cell/gene therapy or a related field.
Responsibilities
These may include but are not limited to:
· This is a hands-on role involving significant laboratory-based work
· Independently drive efforts to advance, innovate and develop the next generation of cell-based therapies, using in vitro experiments, transplant models and preclinical animal models of disease
· Design and execute experiments, analyze results, and communicate findings to multidisciplinary groups
· Attend scientific meetings, present results, and evaluate and report on research
· Keep current on trends, new products and technologies in the gene therapy and gene editing fields
· Direct a team of junior associates or technicians
Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· PhD or equivalent in hematology, immunology, stem cell biology or other relevant field with 5+ years experience in cell/gene therapy in industry or academia
· Prior experience in primary cell isolation and culture (hematopoietic stem cells, lymphocytes) is required
· Extensive experience is preferred within at least one of the following fields: cell product development, immunotherapy, or gene therapy
· Experience developing in vivo models and designing in vivo studies
· Expertise in CAR-effector cell function (such as CAR-NK/CAR-mac), or hematopoietic stem cell directed therapies is highly desirable
· Highly proficient in multi-parameter flow cytometry and associated analysis
· Demonstrated ability to lead a team and mentor junior personnel
· Ability to document, organize, communicate and present complex data sets to key stakeholders from diverse background
· Capability to multi-task, be independent, self-motivated, as well as work in a highly collaborative setting.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Exceptional critical thinking, analytical skills and trouble-shooting ability
