Summary:   The Executive Director, Medical Affairs Nephrology is responsible for leading and coordinating Sparsentan Medical Affairs efforts both internally and externally. These responsibilities  include representing the Medical Affairs team on the core team (SST), providing strategic direction for Thought Leader (TL)/KOL management and Insight generation, and in collaboration with key stakeholders, leading the team to  define and refine the strategies and tactics for successfully commercializing Sparsentan throughout its lifecycle. The scope of this role covers enterprise-wide collaboration across medical, advocacy, medical information, clinical, HEOR/Market Access and commercial functions.   Essential Functions: ·         Works closely with key Nephrology stakeholders across medical affairs functions and with commercial, RWE and HEOR teams to develop and drive medical strategy for Sparsentan. ·         Works closely with the field based medical teams (US & EU) to help define and generate disease and asset-specific strategic medical insights. Key questions will need to be identified and medical insight generating tactics and tools, both global and regional, will need to be coordinated and optimized- to ensure successful launches for all Sparsentan indications during its lifecycle. ·         Collaborate with internal cross-functional partners including Medical Affairs (US and EU), HEOR/Market Access, Commercial and R&D Clinical Development, to compliantly develop key global and US initiatives that will positively impact pipeline awareness and disease understanding ·         Provide clinical input, support protocol development and execution of Phase IV programs, including EAP and Registries ·         Lead the development of the Sparsentan TL/KOL engagement strategy pre- and post-launch. ·         Gain and share key insights and help progress the development of knowledge related to the asset and disease state. Insights gained and disseminated should include those communicated on a regular basis by the field-based medical team (MSLs) and those gained through queries coming into Medical Information. ·         Lead Congress/ convention KOL engagement planning along with Field-based MSLs and engage with the congress planning team for larger congresses and provide compliant cross-functional alignment with Medical Affairs (MA), Research & Development (R&D), and commercial activities. ·         Actively participate and compliantly share insights during the ISR and grant review process.   Qualifications: ·         MD and US medical license, with a minimum of 6 years of clinical drug development related experience. Specialization in Nephrology is a plus. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered. ·         Expertise in preclinical, translational and early clinical development ·         Experience working closely with scientific communication team to identify publication opportunities and with ISR and grants team in developing research/grants themes and work collaboratively and compliantly with internal and external scientific/medical communication and ISR/grant teams ·         Extensive academic and pharma collaborative network. History of personal interaction with thought leaders in nephrology. ·         Thorough understanding of drug development, clinical protocols and regulatory processes ·         Rare disease and orphan drug development experience highly desirable ·         Thorough knowledge of FDA requirements, Good Clinical Practices, and pharmaceutical clinical development. ·         Demonstrated success in developing and leading a strategy for a therapeutic area/product ·         Seen as a leader within the field of nephrology ·         Exceptional organizational skills, including competence in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. ·         Proven ability to develop and manage to complex project plans, timelines, budgets, and critical path is required. ·         Must have demonstrated successful ability in building and driving cross-functional working teams for successful life cycle management and post-marketing development activities, negotiating, and gaining consensus in a matrixed and global organization. ·         Excellent presentation skills ·         Possess excellent prioritization, resource planning, and communication skills, as well as the ability to share complex information with a diverse audience at all levels across the organization. ·         Ability to travel 30% domestic and internationally.   Travere Therapeutics, Inc. is an EEO/AA/Veteran/Disability Employer
