University Lab Partners provides professionally managed and equipped co-working facilities for biotech entrepreneurs. The Laboratory Associate is responsible for the daily operation of ULP laboratory facilities. The Laboratory Associate will support ULP learning laboratory for advanced high school, undergraduates or graduates students through lab based curriculum development and instruction.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of laboratory facilities including waste management, purchasing,
    chemical inventories, laboratory housekeeping tasks, laboratory safety and EH&S compliance.
  • Responsible for technical training, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory
    equipment.
  • Develop and implement new laboratory and operations policies and procedures.
  • Work with external vendors for sourcing and purchasing of equipment and supplies.
  • Develop, monitor, and revise curriculum for biotechnology courses.
  • Provide in-person instruction of biotechnology courses.
  • Provide consistent excellent customer service with enthusiasm.
  • Other administrative, networking duties, and ad hoc projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in life sciences, bioengineering, or biotechnology degree with a minimum
    of 2 years of bench-top experience in a research and/or R&D environment.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols, SOPs, and SDS.
  • Knowledge of fundamental laboratory techniques and measurement methods.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Analytical, troubleshooting, and development skills with strong attention to details.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to be highly productive in a fast-paced work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cellular biology, molecular biology, and/or PCR.
  • Experience with experimental design and research applications.
