Position Description:

You are a highly motivated and talented contributor and looking to join an exciting and fast-growing company to develop cell therapeutics and product platforms. The position is responsible for managing the day-to-day laboratory activities of the New Product Sciences team. Primary responsibilities include working with the New Product Sciences team to (1) ensure inventory needs for all projects, (2) supervise the management of equipment, lab activity schedule, safety compliance, and (3) support preparation of reagents for cell culture and assays. You demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with team members and manage multiple priorities in-parallel.

You are available full-time for a position located in San Diego, CA. The position will be 100% on-site and requires flexibility in working schedule to accommodate weekend work when necessary.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain all laboratory inventory and supply lists.
  • Perform receipt and inspection of incoming materials as needed.
  • Create and manage lab schedules for all process activities including weekend and holiday work in a safe and fair manner to protect both the processes and employees.
  • Prepare buffers, reagents, aliquoting and re-stocking of lab supplies.
  • Maintain cell culture and coordinate/assist in the production of cell culture media.
  • Understand and ensure through administration of a training program that staff follow industry standards for laboratory compliance and safety.
  • Coordinate with facilities operations team to manage lab equipment and safety requirements, hazmat program, job hazard analysis, and OSHA log maintenance.
  • Prepare written reports, summaries, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support the organization in maintaining a work environment that fosters learning, open communication, collaboration, and teamwork.
  • Highly self-motivated and flexibility in working schedule to accommodate weekend work when necessary.
  • Flexibility to handle rapidly changing objectives and timelines is essential.

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in cell biology or a related field with technical laboratory experience. Experience as a manager, supervisor, or team leader with experience in an industry setting particularly beneficial.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the job duties as listed above may also be acceptable.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal laboratory compliance standards.
  • Experience creating and maintaining team schedules.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time, carrying out different priorities concurrently with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent written, communication, organization, and record-keeping skills.
  • Capable of working both independently and in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience with scheduling and managing vendors.
  • Must be skilled in the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office, primarily Word, Excel and PowerPoint
