We are currently looking to add a Temporary Lab Technician to our Calipatria, CA team at the California Advanced Algae Facility.

 

A Typical Day at Viridos

You’ll work with a team of professionals to assist the scientific and production staff with routine laboratory tasks and functions.

You’ll work in the lab and in the field to collect data, calibrate sensors, maintain sensor networks, prepare reagents and chemicals, operate lab and system equipment, maintain seed trains, and be hands-on with enhanced algal strains and advanced algal growth systems.

Critical thinking skills are necessary. A self-motivated, detail-oriented individual will thrive in this environment.

Good communication skills are essential. A successful applicant will be able to follow SOPs, enter data, and maintain laboratory files.

Nothing else matters without a safe environment. You will work hand in hand with our Safety Team to foster a culture where safety is non-negotiable.

Ability to rotate shifts and work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed lends a strong factor for consideration.

 

Education and Experience

HS Diploma or Associates Degree

6 months – 1 year experience in a research or technical laboratory is desired. If that experience happens to be in the field of algae cultivation, that’s a win!

Aptitude with Microsoft Office is a must.

A basic understanding of the requirements for algae cultivation would lend a strong factor for consideration

Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
